Our Story

The genesis of Ministry Through Magazines was a sermon preached on Matthew 9:35-38 where Jesus looked out and saw the many people around him and was moved with compassion because they were harassed and haggard, like sheep having no shepherd. He told His followers to pray and ask Him to send out laborers into His harvest.

The community in which we are located is 52% unchurched, and the question was asked "how can these thousands of people be reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ since they will never come through the doors of a church?" In response to that question and the command of Christ, our founder began to ask God how to do that. One day when leaving his barbershop, the thought came to him, "where do non-believers go?" ... They go to barbershops, beauty shops, doctors' offices, dentists' offices ... Why not put Christian magazines in these places? ... Why just in our small town? ... Why not in other towns as well? That small idea evolved into Ministry Through Magazines.

It is our belief that God has placed His people in every community in our country and His people have the natural desire to see people come to faith in Christ and to help believers mature in the relationship with Christ. It is our belief that many of God's people are professionals and business people who have waiting rooms where they want to place wholesome and life changing reading material. Ministry Through Magazines is committed to help God's people do what they desire to do -- be laborers with Christ in His harvest field by using their offices and waiting rooms for the spiritual good of their customers and clients.
